LETTERS FROM THE INSIDE p. 28-56
1. Why are the letters so important to Mandy? There are many reasons, so think hard and motivate your answer carefully from the text by quoting it.
2. On a vacation, Tracey meets a guy, Greg. What happens and what do you make of her situation?
3. “You seem so honest. I don’t know how you do that” (p. 41), says Tracey and she also states: “OH, I’m sick of writing this garbage, but I don’t know what else to write about” (p. 44). What does she mean by these remarks?
4. How do the two girls handle the truth about Tracey? Quote the text when you write your answer.

Question 1
SvaraRaderaI don't think the letters are as important to mandy as they are to tracey.
Tracy was the one who replied to mandys ad in the paper. Tracey is in fact not the person mandy first thought she was. she's a bad person whos cought up in a security place for so called " bad " people and she's in a A-block with the highest security.
She wrote to mandy because she wanted to know how the real life was outside Garret and how other girls lived there lives.
so all she wrote to mandy in the first 50 pages was all a lie. her need to connect with people was so high that she had to do this. she found herself and mailbuddy who happend to be mandy...

SvaraRaderaAs tracy is in Garret the story about greg is a lie to.
If i was tracey i would stick to casey because she loves him and hes not as far away as greg is and its alot easier to meet him. and as you said on a lesson ( Carolina ) It's hard to have a long distance relationship with a person.
And Tracey doesen't know how Greg realy is like. He might only be this nice and loving in the start but after a while he might become a bit more slacky and less carying.

1. She said that the letters keep help her going. She can talk about things with her that she not can talk with her frinds about. For example her brother.
SvaraRadera2.She meet greg who was a little bit older than her. Greg come and pick her up i his dads porshe and ate in an restaurant. I should forget greg because he lives far away. And i wouldnt be fair to Casey.
3.Tracey cant be honest because she afraid to tell Mandy the truth about her life. Bur she will tell her anyway.
She means that she dont want to write more about those lies about her life and all that.
4.Mandy still want to know stuffs about Traceys life and keep writing. Tracey wants to stop writing and forget all whats has happend.

SvaraRaderaI think tracey begins to feel a bit tierd of writing the same old stuff wich are all a lie.
The first thing is only that she wonders how a stranger as mandy can be so honest and direct in her letters without lying and making herself better then she is herself like tracey does.
In the seconds statement tracy begins to get bored of writing a lie all the time, and she also wants to break the connection with mandy through the letters. She can't come up with more lies because she almost screwed it up when Mandy tried to send a letter by person. And as she doesen't want to tell Mandy the truth about herself she can't write more.

Her words show that the letters are very important to her, it´s the start of a growing friendhip which means a lot to her.
Mandy also says: " Even though you obviosly don´t want to know about Steve, all i can say is tough titties. There´s nobody else I can talk to - well there is people i can talk to but I dont want to. It´s safer writing to you beacuse I dont have to look at any faces and see the expressions - embarrassment, mostly. And I don´t have to listen to their meningless replies.." (p.34). With this she tells that she can talk to/ write to Tracey without feeling embarrassed which she feels when she talk to someone in real.

1. Mandy sad that the letters help her keep going. I think she could write everything to Tracey, things that she can't talk to her others friends about. Mandy writes about her brothers to Tracey and Mandy doesn't talk to nobody else about it so she trust in Tracey.
SvaraRadera2. She can't have meet that gay Greg because she is in jail. It's a lie. She must even have lied about her boyfriend. When your in jail you can't have a boyfriend. She have lied about everything to Mandy.
3.Tracey can't be honets and tell Mandy about her life because if she do she might loose Mandy as a friend. Tracey doesn't know what she can write about that is true. I think she wants to write the truth to Mandy but she is afraid to do it.
4. Tracey lies about everything because she is embarrassed about the hole situation. Mandy wants to k´now the truth she keep on asking Tracey loits of quations about it all the time.

That's the first letter tracy writes back to mandy after she stopped writing. she mants mandy to stop writing but she just keeps on sending her letters, she wants to find out the truth about tracey.
" Come on Trace, vie me a bit of credit. You know looking back, I trusted you from the start and i don't think you ever trusted me at all. try me now - you might be surprised."
Thats Mandy's answear to traceys letter. She feels likes she's loosing the contact with Tracey, And she really likes writing with Tracey.
After that last letter Tracey doesen't reply for quite some time and as the weeks passes Mandy gets more and more curious for Tracy to answear. atlast Tracy answears and she explains to Mandy how shes like and where she is and what kind of person she is. She also ends her Answear With: So now fuck off and get out of my life. This shows that Tracey doesen't want mandy to write but she doesen't stop. i think this makes Mandy want Tracy to write back again. It's more exciteing when she finds out tracy is bad and its a change from the same old letters.

She writs that he is a gentle and caring, but strong to ans she hpes that he will visit her in a few months. She dosesn't know who to pick, Greg or Ceasy.
SvaraRaderaThen you found out that Tracy is on a youth prison or something like that and everything she has wrote has been a lie. I think she is lieing beacuse she is lonely and nothing to do and maybe if she told the truth Mandy wasn't going to answer the letters and nobody write back to her in the first place whn she put out the ad.
3) Maybe Tracy doesn't have any more lies to tell and she doesn't know what more to write. She's is tired to writing lies. Tracy is maybe embarrsed of the truth.
4) Mandy still wants to write lettes but Tracy doesn't want to write. She writes that Mandy should ge the fouck out of her life and she wouldn't understand anything. I think that that Tracy still wanted to write but when Mandy found out the truth about her she was so embarrsed that she dont want to write anymore.
Question 2
SvaraRaderaGregs father has a Porsche that he borrowed and took Tracey out to nightclubs and resturants. Tracey felt good while riding in the car because people looked at her like she was somebody and she felt like it too. She really enjoed it.
Greg has allready calld her since she got home and really wants him to come visit her again. She doesnt wants to tell this to Casey because now she is confused. Greg or Casey? At least it´s not fair to any of the guys.

SvaraRadera1.she feelt that she could talk about everything with Tracy. Her parents didn´t care about what she sad about her stupid brother and she feelt relaxed when she talked with Tracy.

SvaraRadera2. Tracy is lying and says: Me and Greg are going out. We go to restaurants and nightclubs and things like that. Greg is driving his fathers Porsche and I´m sitting next to Greg in the car.
Everything Tracy said was a lie. She is sitting in a sort of jail.
3. Tracey thinks that Mandy is writing good. She admire the way Mandy writes. When Mandy is writing, she seem so honest about everything mean Tracey.
Tracey is always writing about her "boyfriend" (she have no boyfriend) Casey. She is tired of writing about him but she can´t think of something else to write about.
4. Tracey "lives" in Garrett. A place there bad people are arounded by security. She has been there for eleven months.
Mandy still thinks that she can trust Tracey a little bit, but she is "ripped of" (58) Mandy is writing and writing because she wanna know who Tracey really are.
Tracey don´t want Mandy in her life anymore. (56) But she regret that and is writing back to Mandy. None of the girls don´t know what to write about. Mandy is confused and Tracey seems depressed.

Tracey means that she can´t be honest because about the things that Mandy doesn´t know. Mandy can write down everything she has done and everything that comes from her heart, meanwhile Tracey can´t. Wich means that she always has to lie and make up new events.
She can feel it´s get boring, even hard and think it´s just garbage she´s telling Mandy.

SvaraRadera1. It stands pretty much about why the letters and Tracey is so important to Mandy on the hole page of 28. So I just picked out a few of the sentesces from page 28:
"But I had to talk to someone. And these letters, it's funny, they're different. It's a different typ of friendship"
"Somehow these letters are like a diary, and I write things in them that are different to the way I talk to people I see every day".
"Sometimes when I write to you it's like I'm writing to myself."
I agree with Mandy there, that if you have a pen friend and you feel comfortable with him or her and the letters, you can be really honest, maybe without notuce it and then it's like writing in a diary.
Some more quoting:
"There's nobody else I can talk to - well, there's people I can talk to but I don't want to. It's safer writing to you, because I don't have to look at any faces and see the expressions - embarrassment, mostly. And I don't have to listen to their meaningless replies." (p. 34).
I liked those senteces Mandy write there because it's all true, you don't have to look at any faces ande see the expressions when you're writing letters to each other. For example when Mandy is telling Tracey about her problems with her creepy brother, she hasn't told anyone else about it before, well, nobody has ever listen
to her anyway.
The last quoting:
"Anyway, I need to keep writing to you. Our letters have been good for me. They help me keep going". (p. 49)
Altough, I think that the letters aren't less important to Tracey. She maybe just can't admit it.I think that Tracey are a little bit addicted of Mandy too.
2. What happened was that Tracey and her family went on a vaccation to Porpise Beach. She met Greg their who's a little bit older than her but she doesn't care, and he's a livesafer at the pool. He took Tracey out with a Porsche that he borrowed from his father. They went to reataurants and nightclubs. She felt good riding in that car.
Well, I think that Tracey should stick to Casey because she doesn't know Greg so well and they are further away from each other than Tracey and Casey are. It can be hard to have a long distance relationship, I think that it can work
but it's a lot easier to live a little bit closer to each other. That way you can meet often and your love will grow more and it'll stay that way a longer time, hopefully. But all this info about what I think she should do, isn't to so much help because Tracey is in Garret so I think that she problably is lying about it, she hasn't been on a vaccation and she hasn't met Greg, as if he even existed.

3. Tracey means that she's bored of just writing lies all the time, she don't want to tell the truth, not yet anyway. So she's making up lie after lie, again and again. She got so desperate because she want to know how the life outside Garret is, how a real family live. That's why, and I think that Tracey doesn't dare to write

4. "Trace, what's going on? The Greek exchange students had another meeting yesterday, and it was at Prescott high." (p. 45).
This is when Mandy finds out that something isn't right at the moment. Something seems wrong.
First, Tracey doesn't want to tell Mandy and talk about it, just forget everything and never hear from each other again. Tracey got so embarrassed and that's why she stopped writing. But Mandy doesn't give up, she still want to be friends so she keeps sending letters to Tracey, and I understand Mandy, because who wouldn't want to know about a person who've lied to you a very long time and then suddenly nothing. Mandy has trusted Tracey from the start they began writing.
"Come on Trace, give me a bit of credit. You know, looking back, I trusted you from the start and I don't think you ever trusted me at all." (p. 50).
This is the first letter that Mandy writes after Traceys answer to the dozen of letters that Mandy has sent. I think that Mandy is really strong because she has the energy to keep up with Tracey, almost everyting she has said has been a lie and Mandy still stands out with it. She still want to know more about Tracey, and the truth of course.
"So now fuck off and get out of my life." (p. 52).
Tracey wrote that after she told Mandy about Garret. It isn't fair how Tracey writes to Mandy.
She must understand that she has put herself in this situation. As one makes one's bed, so one must lie on it.

SvaraRaderaMandy gets shocked but she understands Tracey. "Your letter blew me away. I admit that. But at least now I can guess why you put the ad in, and I can see why you did´t tell the truth about where you were."(p.52) She doesn´t want Tracey to stop writing, even if Tracey sad that her truth would be the end of their friendship.
" Keep writing if you want. But don´t expect much back. I wouldn´t know what to say."(p.53) Tracey think Mandy takes it chill and realise that Mandy´s not gonna stop sending letters.
They keep writing to each other a bit more honestly but not all of it.

Great work guys! A few of you have picked up on the extent of Tracey's lies - and that is brilliant. I have taken notes of all your answers, and expect you to answer questions next week again. This week though, you'll have time to work on your project that is due Wednesday.

2. Tracey meets an older guy calld Greg and she likes him a lot even though she already has a boyfriend (Casey). Tracy and Greg meets in a restaurant and drives in his dads (Gregs) porsche. If i was in Tracey i wouldn’t care much about Greg and dump Casey because if she was in love with him she wouldn’t have met Greg and had thoughts about having a long distance relationship with him. (this is a lie ofcourse)
3. Tracey cant be honest because she’s afraid to tell Mandy the truth about her life. But she will tell her anyway. She means that she don’t want to write anymore about the lies she has told about her life.
4. Mandy doesn’t get angry but she gets very intressted about why she is in prison and how life is in there. She is very curious while tracey ‘’locks’’ herself and doesnt tell Mandy why she is in prison but she tells her how life is living in a prison. Here is a quote ‘’ Sorry if mine are getting boring. But don’t stop writing, please. I love your letters.’’
