  1. The mysterious murder
Christopher is a young boy who’s very interested in science and maths. He lives at home with his father who really cares about Christopher. His mom has passed away a while ago, and he doesn’t have any brothers or sisters. He is a very shy boy who’s not interested in friends, probably because he’s studying in a special school and he is a lot cleverer than the other students there. He has a decease named asberger syndrome. Because of that he has some problems by being with strangers, understand other people’s feelings etc. But, he is a very smart boy. I can tell so because he’s very clever during the math in school. He often looks at some science programs on the television when he has got home from school. He is very interested by solving problems like the murdered dog Wellington. He also looks at a TV-program called Sherlock Holmes. It is about solving some crimes and stuff. Christopher wants to solve the mystery before Mr. Sherlock Holmes does. He has started to solve the mystery about the murdered dog Wellington. He thinks it very exciting to ask people about the dog, although he’s frightened of talking to strangers. Christopher is writing about the things he’d been doing that particular day and especially telling all the new information he had found out buy talking to all the neighbors. He tries to write it as a story like the Sherlock Homes mysteries. I think he has a lot of smart thoughts about the crime who’s been committed. Like, the person who murdered the dog probably wanted to hurt Ms. Shears. Or that the person just hated the annoying dog. Well, you can reach many other conclusions as well. Christopher is quite obsessed by the “car-game”. Every time he goes to school he looks at the cars passing by. If he sees many red cars in a row it means that he will have a very good day. But on the other hand, if he sees some yellow cars in a row it will be a very bad day. I really think that the book is very interesting.

  2. The curious boy
A dog is lying on the lawn. It’s dead and it probably died because of somebody stuck a “garden fork” in it. A boy walks by and sees this dog. He opens the gate and enters the garden. This little man is Christopher who’s a young man and got Asperger’s Syndrome. He love dogs and that’s why he start hugging the dog. Suddenly someone starts screaming “What in the fuck’s name have you done to my dog?”

Christopher is fifteen years old and because of his disease he knows very little about human beings and how to behave. But he compensates this lack of knowledge with his extreme cleverness in math and physics. Christopher always needs things to be in order. He loves lists and patterns. For example when he sees four red cars in row it’s a good day, but if it’s four yellow cars it’s a bad day. We might think that this is very odd, but for Christopher it is totally normal.

His hobbies are outer space, math, physics and almost anything you can read or learn something from. He also likes novels and especially detective stories as Sherlock Holmes. From the beginning you find out that his mother died in a heart-attack when he was about nine years old but this take an unexpectedly turn when he finds a box with letters from his mom in his father’s closet which says that she is a live and lives in London with another man she left Christopher’s father for. His father name is Ed and works with boilers. They live in a calm and quiet neighborhood until the dog get killed and Christopher makes up his mind that he we’ll find out who killed it. He actually does not have any friends at school or on his spare time. But he has his rat Toby. Siobhan is his friend and mentor who try to teach him how the society works and teaches him right from wrong.

Christopher is trying to write a detective story and that is what you read about in every other chapter. The other “line” of the book is about his life and why he is writing this book. Why Christopher is writing a book is because he always trying to have a project that interests him. His idol is Sherlock Holmes who’s got an influence on him and I think this is a big factor why he started to write about his detective work. He also tries to be as Sherlock Holmes is in the books.

An interesting thing about the book and Christopher is that he made his chapter numbers in prime numbers instead of regular numbers. This is because he likes these and to make the book more “Christopherish”.

  3. What does different mean?

Different, is that something that has the mean stupid or bad? Well, it doesn’t have to, because no one is just the same so you could say that everybody is different from each other. We just have to learn to accept this and not this that people are stupid just because there not just like everybody else.

“The curious incident of the dog in the night-time” is a book about a very different, but smart, person. His name is Christopher Boone and he’s exactly 15 years, 3 months and 2 days. The thing about him is that he’s got Asperger’s syndrome and not many knows what that means and that’s why he often gets misunderstand. He doesn’t like people touching him, then he hits them. You could say that he likes thing in a special order and he doesn’t like things to change. He also does not like the color brown or yellow. But enough about his dislikes.

Things that he really likes are space (science), math and physics. He knows a lot about these things and he also think it’s fun to read about it. Then he feels calm and he can be alone, that’s also something he enjoys. He doesn’t like talking to people he doesn’t know because he can’t tell how they feel when he says something to him. If he could decide he would be an astronaut because then he could be alone in a space chip far, far from everyone else.

He doesn’t trust people easily. They have to earn his trust first. This includes teachers. He’s in a school for special kids, but he’s very smart and thinks that everyone else in the school is stupid. He prefers to be on his own. But he has one person he likes, Siobhan. One of his teachers and it’s she that encourages him to write a novel about what’s happening in his life.

Christopher lives in a little town with his father because his mother died in a heart attack. But that’s just what he thinks until he finds letters that she’s been writing to him. What really happened was the she left them (the father and Christopher) because she was having an unfair.

When a dog on his street gets murdered he decides to write a crime story about it because that’s what he likes reading. He’s only writing things that he thinks a book should contain. He compares his novel to his favorite book “The hound of the Baskervilles” because it’s also a crime story and Sherlock Holmes is the kind of detective he would like to be.

While reading this book you get to know a lot about the main person, Christopher, and you learn to understand what it in his case means to be “different”.

  4. The boy in his own world

Christopher is a very weird boy because he has his “special needs”, for example that some days when he sees four yellow cars in a row on the way to school it is “Black days”. That means that he can’t eat anything at school and he sits in the corner of the room all day and read his A level Maths course book. He has a disease called Asperger syndrome that means that he can’t perceive other people feelings or when someone is yelling at him.

He is very good at Maths, Physics and Science. He has a very big interest for prime numbers since his like them a lot. He likes to walk out around midnight because it is not so much people out at that time.

He lives whit his dad and his rat Toby in a house in Swindon, Wiltshire. It’s a quiet neighborhood which is good for him. His mother died when he was quite young. She died of a heart attack.

He doesn’t have any friends at or outside the school. The only person he talks whit in school is his “help teacher” Siobhan that helps him to get a picture of how other people works because he can’t understand itself.

I think that Christopher is a very uncertain boy and it’s because he can’t understand what feelings is. He can’t Register other people’s actions which means that he doesn’t understand when he does something wrong. He knows that he isn’t “normal” and he wants to learn how people work.

Christopher writes his book as it would be a story that he tell to other people. He has a very monotonous style when he writes as you can tell that he isn’t a real writer.

He compares his novel whit a story called “The Hound of the Baskervilles”. He does that since he likes detective stories and this story is one of them. It contains clues and Red Herrings.

  6. The mystery in Swindon
Christopher sees his neighbor’s dog wellington laying on the ground and just wants to go and pat him, but when he comes a little bit closer he can see that the dog is dead. The owner comes out and thinks its him and calls the police. Christopher is determined to caught the killer, who can it be?
Christopher is the boy who the book is about and he is 15 years old. He is a boy who wants to have control over everything and he doesn’t like strangers. He always tells the truth and is a very kind boy but he doesn’t like people to touch him so he sometimes can’t handle himself and hits the person.
He is very interested in math and physics , and likes it allot. These are his favorites substances in school. He likes dogs but he doesn’t have one of his own. But he has a rat named Toby.
He lives with his father, Ed. They live in a house in Swindon in England in a calm neighborhood. His father says that his mother has died in a heart attack but it seems that his mother and father just have divorced and his mother moved to London with a new man.
He doesn’t have so many friends actually none but he trusts one person at school, Siobhan he can talk with her about everything and she learns him about social life. And then he of course have his rat Toby.
He thinks allot and doesn’t know how to do in all situations he comes in. He wants to have control over his future and wants to know that he is safe and nothing will happen to him. Like when he talks to Mrs. Alexander he doesn’t feel comfortable, but he over wins his fear because it was a super good day. It’s a super good day when he sees 5 red cars in row to his way to school.
He is trying to make an exciting detective book like Sherlock Holmes. I think he is a sort of an idol for Christopher and he wants to be like him so he writes like him. Christopher number his chapters with prime numbers instead of one, two, three and on. He wants his book to be special that’s why he makes all this things like prime numbers for chapter numbers and every second chapter in his book he is telling the book and the next is his thoughts and things which makes him write the book. And he has really succeed to make it special. But this is just half of the book, To be continued.

  7. Special is also good
To be autistic or having Asperges syndrome is not very easy, especially for your ambient. All the small but very many and important special needs he has do matter a lot. Because when you have asperges syndrome you see the world from a whole other perspective which is sometimes very good.
So yes, Christopher has aperges syndrome and is a little bit special but special is good. He loves to do math and he loves to read and learn about space and scientist and is really fascinated about prime numbers. He always wanted to become an astronaut because it would be a dream comes true. And soon he is about to do A-level in math which actually get some complications because no one else at his school has done it before, he is also sure about getting an A grade. It´s a special school he goes to and his father has to come and talk to the headmistress to persuade her letting Christopher do the A-level in math. And his father get´s his will trough.
Christopher is only living with his father in house number 36. His mother is dead, she died in a heart attack at the hospital and he doesn´t have many friends. At other schools they call children like him for spas and other stupid things. But he doesn´t looks weird, he just has special needs (he doesn’t like yellow and brown, he doesn´t understand metaphors and jokes and he gets angry when people isn´t clear enough when they talk to him and when someone touches him he wants to hit them).
The author Mark Haddon writes this book really good I think. I always forget that it isn´t Christopher who has wrote the book even if it could be and it’s supposed to be. The novel is a murder mystery novel and Christopher is a detective who must solve the secrecy about his neighbor’s dog Wellington who is murdered. All the investigations he is doing lead to so many other doors he never seen. Like when Mrs. Alexander tells him about Mr. Shears and Christopher’s mothers affair. He founds 43 letters in a box and all of them are addressed to him. They are from his mother.
Mystery after mystery comes up and maybe becomes a little bit too much to handle for Christopher. But he thinks good. He likes to think about anything and everything. If he would be a real detective he would be Sherlock Holmes because it´s a book called The Hound of Baskervilles who is Christopher’s favorite book. They might be think in the same way and the mysteries catch his attention.
To do an especially good book you need an especially good story and with a special (good) main character it will success. And this book is a real success.

  8. Special boy

Imagine if you couldn't read peoples face and know how they feel and every time someone touch you, you feel uncomfortable and just want to scream and hit that person.
    Wouldn´t that be hard?

Christopher is like any boy that you knew on the outside, but if you get to know him you will see that he is different. He has autistic and that is a disease that makes it hard to feel person’s feelings.
Prime numbers, astronomy, math and physic are things he likes and when he gets older he want to be an astronaut. He has also a dream to go on a university and study math or physic or both.
In the book he writes about his Father and Mother as if that there’s name. He´s living with his dad and he is very comfortable with him and he feel very peaceful with his father.
About a few years ago his mother died on the hospital in a heart attack and he was not allowed to meet her. But in the end of the pages you will found out that she´s not dead.

Christopher has no real friends except his rat Toby and in the school his like to talk to his help teacher Siobhan who help Christopher to understand people’s behaviour and stuff like that. In the book he also gets to know Mrs Alexander who is an old lady that has know his mother.

I think Christopher is a very thoughtful boy who needs person to understand him. He is very clever and thinks of things in a very special way.

To get out all his thoughts Siobhan think it´s good to him to write a book. He chooses to write a mystery novel because he likes it. He wants to write about things that had happening to him so that he can relate to it.

I think the book is very interesting and it´s very good explained. I hope it will continue like it begin.

So if you have a hard day just think of Christopher’s situation.

  9. Christoffer is not like a person that people would say is normal. Everyone is different and no one is like anyone else, but Christoffer has asperger's syndrome. And that makes some people think that he is strange or stupid. They can't understand why he for example don't likes the color yellow, or why he hits people who touches him.

Christoffer is fifteen years old and is very interested in space, math and physics, he is also very good at it. A typical thing people with asperger has hard with is to read peoples expressions.

He lives with his father because his mother is dead, he thinks. But actually he is alive and have just left him and his father.
Christoffer don't hanging out with friends or something like that on his sparetime because he likes to be alone. He dont like strangers either so he have probably problem to get friends from the beginning.

He goes in a special school and it happens that "normal" students say mean things about him.
But he talks alot with his teacher Siobhan, who also helps him with the book he writes. She understands him and is a very good support for him.
Christoffer is very precise and punctual in everything he does. He has named the chapters in the book with primenumbers, just because he likes it.

He compare his story to the book "The Hound if the Baskervilles", because he likes Sherlock Holmes and thinks that if he was a proper detective he would be like him. And he also thinks he is very intelligent. Christoffer observes things like he does.

    SvaraRadera
  10. Very special boy
Christopher is a very special boy with “special needs” according to himself. He loves math and physics which he is pretty good at, and he is very fussy with everything. The food for example, broccoli and ham can’t touch each other because then he won’t eat it. He doesn’t like strangers or when somebody touches him, he hates things that are yellow and brown, well yes he have a whole list of things he does and doesn’t tolerate.
Christopher does not have any friends because he thinks they are stupid. But he has his father at home who is his friend. His mother died in a heart attack 2 years ago, or that’s what he thought until he found the letters that she have been sending to him during the time he thought she was dead. His father is a good man, even though he lies sometimes, but he knows how to handle things when Christopher gets mad or something and that is an important thing.
This boy has Asperger’s Syndrome. He is very straight to the chase when he tells something in the book. He has very clear views about everything, if he doesn’t like something he would tell it. He does everything in a special way etc.
Christopher is operating an investigation by himself, he is a detective, well not a real one, and tries to found out who killed Mrs. Shear’s dog. This is why he compares his own story with “The Hound of the Baskervilles” which is a detective story with Sherlock Holmes.

    SvaraRadera
  11. Special and honest
He´s afraid of life. He does everything that he thinks is right.
The boy´s name is Christopher and he has autist. He is very good in math´s. He always wants right answers in real life and he does it in Math. That is why he likes it. Christopher is fifteen years old and he does a lot of odd things. Like, he doesn’t like when other people is touching him. He hates the colors black and yellow. Christopher always tells the truth.
Christopher doesn’t seem to have any friends at all because he is a special guy and likes to be by himself. He dreams of being an astronaut, empty in the space where he could be all by his own. Christopher, his father and toby (name of his rat) is living in a house by their own. At first, Christopher thinks that his mother is dead, but she isn’t, because she hade written a lot of letters to Christopher. His father had told him about his mothers dead and the reason why he did that was maybe because that he hated her. One day, Christopher found these letters in his father’s room by a mistake. He was going to find his book but he found both these things.
Christopher had had a very tough childhood and he hasn’t got his support from his mother, because she left of when he was nine. Maybe that’s why he´s afraid of the life.

    SvaraRadera
  12. An unusually smart child
His parents has split up because his mother couldn’t handle Christopher’s problems and that she saw Christopher’s father and Christopher relationship were different then her’s and Christopher’s. She starting to feel lonely, but then she start seeing their neighbour, Mr Shers, more and more. She thought he took away her loneless and that is why they left together from their families. Christopher lives only with his father now.
Christopher is boy with behavior problems and he can become very aggressive eg. if someone is touching him. He is very intelligent because he will do an A maths test and get an A on it. I think that his friends are all grown ups because he doesn’t writes about something that children used to do, only discussions between him and Siobhan eg.
I think his actions are exaggerated sometimes, but very often he thinks first and act after and that is good and smart of him to do.
He writes from like if he is a detective, from a detective’s view. He is describing why he does special things, like not talk to anyone or not eat one day, which is because he has seen a number of yellow cars in a row eg.
He is comparing his book with Sherlock Holmes book because he thinks that Sherlock Holmes and he are alike because they are both very smart and doing detective works.

    SvaraRadera
  13. Odd Christopher

Christopher is an Odd person. For example he hates al yellow things, and if he see 3 or 5 yellow cars in a row he get a black day there he don’t speak to anyone. And in the book “that he writes” he says: and she said……and he said…. Al the time, and in a normal book they don’t do this. In school he is a bit bullied. But his father tells him not to care. In school he likes to do math’s, science and some other things.
In his book he compeers himself to Sherlock holms because he want to write a mystery murderer novel to.
He doesn’t know when to say some things and when it is a bad time. Like when he talks to his dad about the book his writhing and the dad gets mad, a normal person had have told he’s father but Christopher don’t know this.

He´s family contains his father and his father’s brother I think. In the book Christopher finds letters from his mom that his father has hidden. In the letters she tells him that she misses him and that she didn’t waned to live hem. But she didn’t have the strange to stand him, so she lives with one of the neighbors that just got divorced.
that’s makes Christopher’s father really mad and when the letters come he hides them in his bedroom. That’s way Christopher not is allowed to touch anything in there.

  14. The dark truth

A dark night in the neighborhood should soon be a very interesting night for the 15years old boy Christopher that finds out thing he couldn’t even dream about.. This is a wonderful book about the autistic boy Christopher who solves the mystery of the neighbor’s dog and learns a little more in the process.

The boys name is Christopher and he is in his teens. Christopher has Asperser’s, a form of autism,
he doesn’t like when people touch him and when it’s to many around him. When things go too far he hits people because he can’t handle the situation. He is very good in math but knows very little about human beings, and is crazy for patterns and the truth.
He lives in Swindon together with his dad and the rat Toby. The mother is dead, or at least that’s what his father tells him. (But actually she lives in London with Mr Shears ) He lives in a quiet neighborhood. He doesn’t really have any friends in school or any at all.
Because of his disease he isn’t very easy to handle and you never know what his going to do. He’s a bit of a loner but still he’s curious about others.
He calls his father’s scam about the mother when he finds some letters from her in the father’s room where the truth was hidden. Maybe this is the consequence of the lie that has affect Christopher to a disease with anger. And have been living on a lie, of course someone becomes very angry when he finds out that his father hidden the truth. A guess his childhood has been very hard without a mother and maybe he hasn’t got the right support he needed. That is the background to his
    actions and his bad behavior.

  15. The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is a 2003 novel by British writer Mark Haddon. It won the 2003 Whitbread Book of the Year and the 2004 Commonwealth Writers' Prize for Best First Book. Its title is a quotation of a remark made by the fictional detective.

  16. Do Not judge the book by it's cover

When you are sad you probably would cry and when you happy you probably have a big smile on your face. But that is not the case for everyone. Instead of crying you act like nothing had happened to you. You really don’t understand what it’s like to be sad and you also have no idea how it’s like to be happy. You have never smiled in your whole life. This is how it’s like to have azbergers syndrome.

The boy in the book who name is Christopher has this sort of social complications. He knows very much about math and physics and not so much about human beings.

Christopher can’t tell if someone is sad or angry with him and that is why he doesn’t like to talk to strangers who don’t know him. His friend and family have a hard time with him because his always get into a lot of trouble.

Christopher doesn’t like being touch and he can’t eat his food on his plate if they have touched each other as well. When someone accidentally has touched him the hell begins. He starts to scream and he beats all that he can access. Usually when someone is huging you, you become completely warm inside, but so is not the case for Christopher and this is why he has a hard time to making friends.

Animals can bring out the best from a person and that's what Christopher's litle rat Toby have done. People with azbergers syndrome are not so considerate as other people because they have very difficult to undersatand other people's feelings. It's sounds to me like Christopher really care about that litle rat and takes good care of it. Animals do not show as much emotions as humans do and that is why Toby is the perfect friend for Christopher.

The boy in the book like to have everything structured and he also believes a lot of good and bad luck. Since he is such an structured person, he must keep an eye of everything all the time. For exemple, if he sees three yellow cars (he hates yellow things) in a row it would be a bad day and if he sees several red cars in a row it would be a super good day.

Christophers brain is in full swing all the time and therefor he must always have something to think about or read, but it must be realistic. He does not think that you can wright a book about something that hasn't happend or something that is unrealistic. The book that he are writing is therefor about real mysteries that has happend in his own life. He took the inspiration for the book from crime misteries that he absolutely loves. Crime misteries is often based on true stories and they are never unrealistic and that is two requirement that Christopher has on books.

Christopher is a big person in a small format, with a very big will. It is precisely his will that makes him such a special person. In every man hides an special character who has different thought and ideas. It is not the disease itself that makes a person special, it is what's in the inside that counts. You must open the book to see what is hiding inside.
